Pitt Rivers Oxford

The most beautiful place ever, as if the Wellcome Collection and Huntarian had a baby... sans pickled goodies but plenty of gloomy lighting and cases full of treats. I went a bit snap happy, due to there being 2 full cases of amulets//talismans//superstitious medicine bits (perfect for my project) and for once, the photos I took came out quite nice.

Sometimes I Wonder...

...what on earth I am doing with my life. 5 hours, 12 spreads and a slowly melting
brain later, I have this (among other things; i'm not that rubbish. sheesh)
Maybe lack of sleep - and brain cells - makes this funnier to me than it actually is.

The Family Album of Lucybelle Crater

Meatyard's photos remind me so much of 'haunted air'
(which is still sadly sitting in my wishlist).
Loads more beauties here

One of my favourite ever photos

and i can't remember where it's from or who did it.
i think i pulled it off someone's tumblr?

I do know that this one of a boy reading Captain America
is by Hugh Morton for Life Magazine (1942)

Lucy, I Love You

Reminded me of this, which has been sitting on my desktop
for about a year now. Absolutely genius for when it rains...

Kolmanskop

saw this last week in the new National Geographic, photographed by Chris Gray; Kolmanskop is an abandoned diamond mining community in Namibia, where the houses have become invaded by the surrounding sand.

Tightrope Walker

Continuation of yesterday's screen printing session. This photocopy and the horse headdress were from a book of circus photography but i foolishly didn't make a note of it or the photographer and it was years ago so i don't remember. I have a feeling it was Christian Staub? Who knows.

What's Your Damage?

They threw my week's worth of printmaking in the bin last year. Bastards. This includes most of the pictures i took in Barcelona.
As it's all I have to show for a wasted week last summer, would i sound smug if i said i thought they were 'Choice'? No? Good. I feel like watching Heathers again...
